North America’s leading designer and manufacturer of high-design, site furniture, structure, LED lighting, and accessories, is proud to introduce Paseos, a collection of landscape amenities created through the collaboration between partner brand Kornegay Design, and São Paolo-based ceramicist and artist, Claudia Issa.
Paseos are public scale, cast concrete amenities that juxtapose impressions of balance, motion and rotation with the boldness and stability of their medium. Issa’s use of organic forms and intentional asymmetry in her design uniquely leverages Kornegay’s artisan, by-hand casting process.
Three sculptural forms—a tall landscape container, a wide landscape container and a solid pedestal that can serve as a low-slung seat or a side table—create interactive, large-scale installations. Playful in form yet robust and durable in construction, Paseos piques interest and invites participation in high-traffic outdoor landscapes. The line is offered in smooth or sandblasted finishes, with a choice of standard or custom-mixed integral pigments from Davis Colors.
Paseos arose from a creative collaboration between Issa, Landscape Forms and Kornegay Design. “It was refreshing to engage in such a mutual, back-and-forth creative process with the designers from Kornegay and Landscape Forms,” says Issa. “Together we were able to create a unique design that is very representative of my artistic vision, yet one that also connects with Larry Kornegay’s founding design language.”
Landscape Forms Chief Creative Officer, Kirt Martin, says, “Working with Claudia has been instrumental in our mission to grow and evolve Kornegay Design. Her work is very evocative of the brand, but also a fresh expression of her artistic vision and global experiences.”
