“Dramatic, elegant and sculptural,” are adjectives artist and designer Larry Kornegay uses to describe his Dune Series Landscape Containers. The undulating, rhythmic imagery created by desert sand dunes is the inspiration for the graceful contour of the container and for the rim’s subtle windswept form. The tranquil simplicity of the Dune Series provides a point of synergy with the sculptural qualities of contemporary architecture.

“There was a certain period in time where we were casting more Dune planters than the rest of our other products combined,” recalls Larry Kornegay. “I think it speaks to Dune’s unique ability to integrate so seamlessly into a variety of modern, architectural landscapes. Every now and then, you hit something design-wise that’s really compelling to a large swath of people.”

Dune Product Details

The Dune Series are organically tapered landscape container with a wide, curved rim. The Dune Series features Kornegay’s largest variety of sizes, ranging from 16” to 40” in height and 24” to 72” in diameter. The largest of the seven Dune planters is designed specifically to fit up to a four-foot box tree. The containers ship with the standard 2-⅜” diameter drainage hole, or custom hole to function with irrigation & drainage plumbing. The Dune Series is available in 9 standard colors, with additional color mixing available, and can be finished in a bituminous sealer (suggested for interior applications) or sandblast finish.
